Mid-Term Event & Partner Meeting in Wiesbaden

September 23-25, 2025

From 23 to 25 September 2025, DeCarb-Pro partners gathered in Wiesbaden, Germany, for several days of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic discussions around carbon pricing and sustainable public procurement.

Hosted by Klimaschutzagentur Wiesbaden, the event combined the project's partner meeting with a wider Mid-Term Event bringing together practical experiences, local authorities, and innovative approaches from across Europe.

Partner Meeting

During the partner meeting, consortium members reviewed the progress of the project and discussed the next phases of DeCarb-Pro. Partners exchanged updates on local implementation activities, ongoing pilot actions, and future collaboration opportunities.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between partners and further developing practical tools and strategies to support local authorities in integrating carbon pricing into public procurement processes.

Mid-Term Event

The Mid-Term Event created a space for partners and stakeholders to exchange experiences and practical solutions related to CO₂ pricing in public procurement.

Over the three days, participants explored topics such as:

  • carbon pricing methodologies,
  • green budgeting,
  • environmental criteria in procurement,
  • stakeholder engagement,
  • capacity building,
  • and practical implementation challenges.

Several inspiring case studies were presented during the event. Partners shared concrete examples of how municipalities and regional authorities are already integrating sustainability criteria into procurement procedures and involving companies from the early stages of the process.

A key takeaway from the discussions was that successful carbon pricing does not only depend on technical tools, but also on engaging colleagues, public authorities, and businesses in the transition.
